Role :Program Manager, Emerging Markets.

As a Program Manager for Emerging Markets, you help to bring awareness to Google's mission, open web technologies and our products within the technical and business community in your region. You will be responsible for growing the Internet eco-system in your region, by helping developers, start-ups, businesses and IT professionals to successfully build applications and grow their businesses using Google's products, developer tools and APIs. To achieve your goals, you will work with cross-functional Google teams, covering product, sales, marketing, engineering, developer relations, local volunteers, along with external vendors. Additionally, you will manage relationships with, and foster creation of, local developer, start-up, and business communities, both formal (Google Technology User Groups) and informal (discussion boards, casual meet-ups, non-affiliated user groups).

Responsibilities:
•Design, coordinate and execute both online and offline outreach and support programs in the region.This could include responsibility for large-scale Google events such as G-days (i.e. large budget, high attendance, high visibility), as well as content on regional developer and business blogs.
•Contribute and partly lead the Outreach strategy and plan for your region.
•Ensure that existing GTUGs remain active (e.g. regular liaison with GTUG members, availability of a Google engineer to speak at GTUGs) and foster the creation of new GTUGs, particularly in countries with specific focus in the region
•Design and execute educational activities / initiatives. Identify non-Google sponsored events (e.g. barcamps, tech events) which could be considered for receiving Google's support (funding, speaker, other) and build the case for those events which should be supported

Minimum Qualifications:
•Experience in a managing large mission critical projects
•Experience with conference presentation or other public speaking including press interviews
Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience as an active participant (ideally as a leader) in technical/developer/business communities
•Strong project and program management skills as well as excellent communication skills
•Ability to identify Google product relevant target groups and define their ‘needs’
•Excellent coordination and communication skills

2. Role :Software Engineer, Experienced Candidates

Responsibilities:

•Provide technical and architectural leadership for one or more software engineering teams.
•Architect, design, and develop (hands-on) large-scale, complex infrastructure systems.
•Mentor engineers and communicate effectively with globally distributed core teams.
•Use your technical influence to drive innovation and engineering standards/best practices across Engineering.
•Represent Google Engineering at internal and external events.

Requirements:

•University degree in Computer Science with at least 1 year of experience preferred. (MS/Ph.D. a plus)
•Extensive experience designing and programming large scale, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval algorithms, network programming, Linux kernel and/or developing large software systems.
•Experience in solving hard problems in computer science.
•Strong object oriented programming skills in C/C++ or Java.
